Pre-School (3 years-5 years)

School readiness and beyond is exactly what our preschoolers experience on a daily basis at Johnson's Daycare. A comprehensive curriculum is used to provide a unique balance of standard based activities that support components and easy to understand strategies to putting things together.

The whole child curriculum consists of emotional, social, health, physical, and cognitive development as previously mentioned. We use activities to build independent skills and this is to help with school readiness. Beyond school readiness our children become rather advanced as they learn to recognize an expanded range of shapes and numbers.

There are certain techniques are used to enhance the child’s ability to associate groups of letters and spoken words. Teachers stimulate the child’s understanding of cause, effect and inquisitiveness through activities that present real world situations such as making healthy choices by planting in our community garden. Age appropriate interactive learning areas are available for children to explore as they play. The support and involvement of parents are also encouraged.
