Parent's Corner

Potty training can often times be a daunting task for parents. However, it does not have to be that way. After all, it is a big step for the child as well as the parents. Be sure to make the staff aware that you are potty training and we will do all we can to assist in the process.  To ensure success please consider the following:

- Make sure the timing is right. Your child must be ready. If they seem interested and can follow and understand basic instructions, that may be a strong indicator that it is time to start the potty training process. If your child can tell you that they need to use the bathroom or their posture and expressions change when they need to "go" that is another indicator. They should be able to stay dry for periods or 2 or more hours during the day.

-Remain positive. Please do not stress your child out.

-Schedule potty breaks. Start by having them sit on their toilet seat without a diaper for a few minutes several times a day.

-Educate them by reading potty training books. Whether they use the bathroom or not, praise them for at least trying.

-Take the hint when they say they need to "go" and move to assist them quickly. It can be confusing to the child when you give them an excuse to use the potty in their diaper or pull up.

“Johnson's Daycare added significantly to our children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. We feel and can also confirm that the daycare has aided in our children's preparation for school and beyond.”
